Comedy fans in Madison, OH, are in for a treat as Debonne Vineyards welcomes back stand-up comedy on Thursday, October 17, with the Midwest Comedy Tour. The event will feature an entertaining mix of stand-up and improv, led by MCT founders Austin Robertson and Becky Thompson, who will be joined by special guests Chris Anderson and headliner Jake Iannarino. Known for his appearances in films alongside Adam Sandler and Rob Schneider, Iannarino has toured internationally and been featured on XM/Sirius Radio and HBO's Vice News Nightly.

This adult-only event promises an evening full of laughs with new jokes, new friends, and plenty of humor. The show starts at 7 p.m., with tickets priced at $25, which includes the first drink. Expect a night of comedy with a bit of an edge, as the show will contain adult content and language.

šŸ„ Join Blackbrook Audubonā€™s Monthly Bird Walk at Veterans Park on Oct. 27

Bird enthusiasts of all levels are invited to join Blackbrook Audubonā€™s monthly bird walk on Oct. 27 at Veterans Park in Mentor. The event begins at 8 a.m., with participants meeting at 5730 Hopkins Road. The park offers accessible trails made of asphalt, gravel, and boardwalks, making it suitable for everyone. A few binoculars will be available for those without their own.

These bird walks occur on the fourth Sunday of each month, year-round. At the first event in September, held during the Headlands Birding Festival, 30 participants recorded 30 species on eBird.

Veterans Park spans 100 acres and includes Granger Pond, the largest inland pond in Lake County. The park, managed by Lake Metroparks, is stocked with catfish, bass, bluegill, and rainbow trout, requiring a valid Ohio fishing license. The pond attracts birds like herons and kingfishers, and eBird lists 204 species for this location.

šŸ“° Police Officer on Paid Leave Following DUI Arrest

A Painesville Police officer, Amber Sutton, has been placed on paid administrative leave following her arrest over the weekend, according to a statement from the City of Painesville. Sutton, who has been with the department for one year, was involved in a DUI incident while off-duty. The arrest, made by Fairport Harbor Police, was reported to the Painesville Police Department early Sunday morning. An internal investigation is now underway to determine the next steps, with Sutton remaining on paid leave during this process. Officials have stated that no additional information will be released until the investigation concludes.

The New York Yankees strengthened their grip on the American League Championship Series Tuesday night, defeating the Cleveland Guardians 6-3 to take a commanding 2-0 series lead. Aaron Judge delivered his first home run of the postseason, a decisive two-run blast in the seventh inning that extended the Yankees' lead to 6-2 and effectively sealed the victory. The Yankees' slugger finished with three RBIs on the night, despite going just 1-for-3 at the plate.

The Yankees jumped on Guardians starter Tanner Bibee early, forcing Cleveland manager Stephen Vogt into an unusual second-inning decision. After the Yankees loaded the bases, Vogt intentionally walked Juan Soto to face Judge and pulled Bibee after just four outs. The move limited the damage to a sacrifice fly, but forced Cleveland into an unplanned bullpen game that ultimately required eight pitchers.

Yankees starter Gerrit Cole worked through trouble, escaping a bases-loaded jam in the fourth inning before being lifted in the fifth after Cleveland cut the lead to 3-2. The Yankees' bullpen proved up to the task, holding the Guardians in check until JosƩ Ramƭrez's solo home run in the ninth provided the final margin. Gleyber Torres sparked the Yankees' offense from the leadoff spot, going 3-for-5 with two runs scored. Clay Holmes earned the win with two-thirds of an inning of shutout relief.

The series now moves to Cleveland for Game 3 on Thursday, with first pitch scheduled for 5:08 p.m. ET.
