📰 Mentor Conducts Housing Market Study to Guide Future Development

cityofmentor.com

In early 2023, the City of Mentor recognized the need to evaluate its housing market and identify gaps in the existing housing stock. To address this, Stantec Consulting Services, Inc. was hired in August 2023 to prepare a Housing Study & Needs Analysis, with support from the Mentor City Council and the city’s administration.

The study began in September 2023 with a resident survey and stakeholder interviews, allowing Stantec to engage with the community and understand Mentor’s housing concerns and objectives. Following this, Stantec conducted an in-depth evaluation of Mentor’s housing inventory, demographics, and economic conditions to identify market gaps and formulate strategies for future housing opportunities while protecting existing property values.

The findings of the study are designed to guide Mentor’s housing development policies, balancing future growth with the preservation of the community's character. The Executive Summary in the report’s introduction provides an overview of the analysis and key takeaways, while the resident survey results are detailed in the appendix.

🍽️ Discover Fine Dining at Concord’s Nouveau Bistro & Lounge

Take your taste buds on a journey at Nouveau Bistro & Lounge, Concord’s premier fine dining destination. Since childhood, Executive Chef Sean St. Clair dreamed of owning his own restaurant. This dream became a reality in November 2014. Together with his wife Alison, Chef St. Clair has brought the essence of downtown fine dining to Lake County.

Chef St. Clair's menu is inspired by nouvelle cuisine, offering lighter, more delicate dishes with a strong emphasis on presentation and flavor. During a memorable first visit, a Mother's Day celebration with my wife and daughter, I was truly impressed by the exceptional steak I ordered. It was the best steak I have ever eaten. My wife and daughter enjoyed their meals as well. The atmosphere is upscale, and the service is excellent. Visit Nouveau Bistro & Lounge and you won’t be disappointed.

Guardians Eye Playoff Push with Key Players Set to Shine

The Cleveland Guardians are poised for a strong playoff run in October. However, to cement their status as a top contender in the American League, they'll need some key players to step up in the second half of the season. Here are three players who could significantly impact the Guardians' performance post-All-Star Break.

Andres Gimenez
Despite the Guardians' offensive struggles in the past two weeks, Andres Gimenez has shown signs of improvement. Over the last 15 games, he's hitting .288/.291/.327 with eight RBIs. This uptick could be a preview of what Gimenez might deliver in the next couple of months. Historically, Gimenez has a strong post-All-Star Break performance, with a career slash line of .271/.341/.422 and an OPS of .763 in the second half. A resurgent Gimenez would be a crucial asset for the Guardians as they eye a playoff spot.

Bo Naylor
Bo Naylor has shown flashes of potential since his call-up in June 2023, particularly towards the end of his rookie season. Although the 24-year-old has faced challenges at the plate this season, there's optimism he can turn things around post-All-Star Break. Stephen Vogt has noted the swing adjustments and timing improvements Naylor has made. These adjustments have started to pay off, reflected in his rising on-base percentage since early June. As Naylor's plate vision improves, his hitting should follow suit.

Gavin Williams
Gavin Williams, limited to three starts this season due to an elbow injury from spring training, is poised to play a significant role in the Guardians' second half. Despite his limited action, the right-hander has recorded nine strikeouts in 14.1 innings, with his fastball velocity looking as strong as ever. Williams' potential return to form could be pivotal for Cleveland's success in the latter part of the season.
