šŸš€Ā Historic Rocket Travels Ohio Interstate on Journey to Air Force Museum

An unusual sight caught the attention of many on Ohio's interstates this past Mondayā€”a rocket being transported on a flatbed truck from Copley to Dayton. The journey of the spacecraft was documented by traffic cameras, capturing a spectacle not commonly seen on the road.

The rocket, which was under restoration at Thomarios, a specialty construction firm in Copley, has safely reached its destination at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force in Dayton. It is set to be a new addition to the museumā€™s Missile Gallery. ODOT spokesperson Matt Bruning provided images showing the rocket's journey along I-270.

According to the National Museum of theĀ U.S. Air Force, this particular Atlas rocket will represent the launch vehicle used by USAF Major Gordon Cooper during the Mercury-Atlas 9 mission on May 15-16, 1963. This mission was notable for being the final and longest of the Mercury projects, with Cooper orbiting Earth 22 times and experiencing speeds exceeding 17,000 mph.

šŸ• Navigating the Different Roles: Therapy Dogs, Service Dogs, and Emotional Support Animals

Do You Have A Therapy Dog?

Therapy Dogs play an important role in the community.Ā They participate in childrenā€™s reading programs, visit hospitals and nursing homes, and give companionship and comfort to the people that they meet. They are typically certified by standardized testing via a therapy dog organization. Ā

Dogs that do therapy work have two important attributes: 1) They are born with a temperament that craves friendly interaction with people of all types and other dogs; and 2) They have had obedience training that allows them to move about in a variety of public settings under control. Therapy Dogs must be at least one year of age before testing and have current vaccines.Ā

Therapy Dogs are sometimes confused with Service Dogs or Emotional Support Dogs. Here is a brief description of the differences:

Therapy Dogs
Certified by a national or regional organization.Ā  They have limited access to locations they are invited into for the comfort of others.

Service Dogs
Trained to mitigate a disability for a specific individual.Ā  Access is protected by ADA law. Typically have access to all public locations and transportation.

Emotional Support Dog
Owners have prescription from medical professional stating need.Ā  Allows the dog to reside in non-pet housing. ESD laws are being updated due to misuse of the concept.

For more information about therapy dog training and testing, visit Digging Dogs Training Center at www.diggingdogs.bizĀ or call (440) 255-3500.
