🐕Small Dog in Crate Abandoned at Dudley Park in Willowick

In a distressing incident at Dudley Park in Willowick, Ohio, a small black dog, believed to be a Yorkie mix, was found abandoned in a crate. The event, which took place on Tuesday night, saw an individual drive up, leave the dog in a confined crate, and hastily depart from the scene. Fortunately, a park visitor noticed the abandoned animal around 8 p.m. and promptly alerted the police.

Willowick Police Chief Rob Daubenmire emphasized the seriousness of the situation, noting that abandoning animals is not only cruel but also a legal offense in Ohio, potentially leading to jail time and fines. He urged pet owners facing challenges to seek help rather than abandoning their animals. The police are now investigating the incident, utilizing park and nearby security cameras to identify the individual responsible. Meanwhile, the abandoned dog is receiving care at the Lake County Animal Shelter, and authorities are calling for any information that could assist in their investigation.
