🏀 Mentor Cardinals' Comeback Falls Short - Jackson District Champ

The Jackson Polar Bears emerged victorious over the Mentor Cardinals with a final score of 80-75 in a riveting basketball district championship game. From the outset, the Polar Bears set a strong pace, initiating the game with a 10-2 run and consistently maintaining the lead by showcasing their prowess from beyond the arc with three successful 3-point shots. Kyle Monterrubio stood out for the Polar Bears, contributing significantly with one 3-pointer and a total of seven points.

Despite a rocky start, the Mentor Cardinals demonstrated resilience and a fighting spirit. The duo of Ian Ioppolo and Matthew Biddell were notable contributors, amassing a combined 11 points in the first half. However, they struggled from behind the 3-point arc, with only 2 of 15 attempts finding the net. However, by the end of the third quarter, the scoreboard read 59-52 in favor of Jackson but still within reach for the Cardinals.

The game's intensity peaked in the final moments as Mentor nearly completed a remarkable comeback from a 15-point deficit, tying the game with a clutch 3-pointer from Ian Ioppolo. With just 23.3 seconds remaining, Jackson held a narrow lead of 74-73 and maintained possession. Ultimately, a crucial turnover by the Cardinals sealed their fate, resulting in an 80-75 triumph for the Polar Bears.

This victory crowns the Jackson Polar Bears as district champions, setting the stage for their next challenge against St. Ignatius in the regional semifinals. Despite the loss, the Mentor Cardinals were commended for their valiant effort and spirit, earning the title of district runner-up.

🧳Navigate Your Travels Like a Pro: Expert Advice for the Savvy Tourist

Hello travel friends. I’m back to help you have the best possible vacation. The following travel tips will help you accomplish that goal. So, today we will review several useful apps, websites, and products, many of which have been very helpful over the past few years.

When planning a journey, I find Rome2Rio invaluable as it presents various travel routes from point A to point B, aiding in the refinement of transportation options. For instance, when deciding between a train or a plane from London to Paris, this app provides essential guidance to inform your choice.

My next tip centers around speaking the local language. I suggest using apps like Duolingo to prepare yourself to comfortably speak some words and phrases of a new language. If you do run into a language barrier while traveling try using Google Translate. It has voice to text and text to voice capabilities and allows you to read signs in other languages. This was very helpful while traveling through Europe. Also an added bonus is it works great on menus!

With air travel always try to download the app of all the airlines you’ll be using. You'll have direct up to date communication which is essential for any schedule changes. Another benefit is the ease allowed when checking into your flight. Before your travel day be sure to visit the website of each airport on your itinerary. Even if it's just for a layover. A great time to research the layout, any construction, and what amenities are offered. You'll be prepared and avoid stressful surprises.

When you fly and use a budget airline, be aware that there may be charges for carry and checked luggage. A helpful tip is to use a packable neck pillow. I recently flew Frontier from Cleveland to Las Vegas for a four day trip. If I had paid for extra luggage, it would have more than doubled the cost of the flight. (The price was $79 for one bag each direction.) The packable neck pillow held several articles of clothing, and, along with my backpack, eliminated the need for checked luggage.

Another must have is over the counter Non-drowsy “Bonnie pills” or Bonine for motion sickness. Anyone can have motion sickness on a plane, ship, or bus. Best to be prepared. Ginger also works well.

Thank you for reading my post! As always the "Big 3 Travel Tips" are:
1) Book early for best price and selection.
2) Get your passport.
3) Purchase travel insurance.

You can reach me at using my email for your travel needs or with any questions.

Happy Travels!
