📬 USPS Continues Post-Pandemic Price Hikes with Increased Stamp Costs

The United States Postal Service (USPS) is set to increase the price of Forever Stamps from 66 cents to 68 cents on January 21. This is part of a broader trend of rising postal rates, with an overall increase of nearly 24% since the pandemic. The USPS is adjusting prices to counteract inflation and higher operational costs, in line with their "Delivering for America" financial stabilization plan.

The changes also affect other mailing services, with increases in prices for letters, postcards, and international postage. Despite the hikes, USPS rates remain comparatively low globally.

🍷 Grand River Valley Vineyards Reap Benefits of Cold Snap for Ice Wine Harvest

The recent cold spell in Northeast Ohio has been a boon for the Grand River Valley's ice wine production. Vineyards utilized social media to recruit volunteers for grape picking, an essential part of making true ice wine. Despite the cold, volunteers, including local Scott Rooney, eagerly participated in the early morning harvest. The 2024 ice wine vintage is expected to be rich in complexity and flavor due to the delayed harvest caused by a warm December. The Grand River Valley is gearing up for its Ice Wine Festival in March, a key event featuring wine and food pairings from seven wineries, which aims to attract tourists and enliven the region during the off-season.
