Northeast Ohio is bracing for a shift from cold temperatures to heavy snowfall later this week, with a Winter Storm Watch in effect for several counties. The National Weather Service warns of 4-8 inches of snow, impacting travel. The Ohio Department of Transportation has prepared 300 snowplow drivers to work across 17 counties, ensuring roads are safe and passable, but cautions that heavy snow may still affect road conditions.

❄️ Ice Formation on Lake Erie Offers Hope Against Shoreline Erosion in Mentor

Lake Erie in Northeast Ohio is experiencing increased ice coverage due to recent freezing temperatures, with about 13% of the lake now iced. This development is seen as beneficial for communities like Mentor, which face shoreline erosion issues. However, the Great Lakes overall are experiencing lower ice levels than average. Ice formation helps protect against erosion and benefits fish spawning, but a long-term trend shows a decrease in ice coverage, raising concerns for future erosion and wave impact.

🗞️ Cleveland Browns Overhaul Offensive Coaching Staff After Playoff Exit

The Cleveland Browns have recently announced significant changes to their offensive coaching staff following a challenging end to their season. Reliable sources within the league have informed FOX 8's I-Team that the Browns have dismissed Stump Mitchell, their running backs coach, and decided not to retain tight ends coach T.C. McCartney.

Additionally, despite earlier reports suggesting otherwise, the Browns have also parted ways with offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt. This series of changes comes in the wake of a season that saw the Browns finish with a strong 11-6 record, marking their return to the playoffs for the first time since 2020. However, their playoff journey was cut short in the first round by the Texans, who defeated them 45-14, with the Browns failing to score in the second half.

The Browns' offense faced several challenges throughout the season, including significant injuries to their offensive line and the loss of key players Nick Chubb and Deshaun Watson.
