🗞️ Another One? Yes, Another Minor Earthquake Hits Near Madison, Lake County; No Damage Reported

An earthquake with a magnitude of 2.0 struck approximately 2.4 miles southeast of Madison in Lake County, as reported by the USGS. Occurring just before 12:40 p.m., the tremor was mild, with no structural damage recorded so far.

This seismic activity follows a series of weather-related events in Northeast Ohio, including a spell of extremely cold weather. Interestingly, this isn't the first seismic occurrence in the Madison area recently; two minor earthquakes were also recorded at the beginning of January.

The USGS categorizes earthquakes with magnitudes under 2.5 on the Richter scale as generally imperceptible to people. This latest quake in Madison aligns with this classification, being a low-intensity event.

🎁 Lakeland's Welding Program Elevated with Osborne Trust's Generous $150,000 Grant

The Lakeland Foundation received a $150,000 grant from the Osborne Charitable Trust, creating a welding scholarship and naming a lab in honor of the Osborne family. The scholarship will support students' various educational expenses, aligning with the high demand for welding skills in Northeast Ohio. Officials noted that welding skills are in "high demand" in our area, and, of Lakeland's welding program graduates, 100 percent are placed in jobs with 90 percent working and living in the greater Cleveland area.

❄️ Spectacular 'Light Pillars' Illuminate Northeast Ohio's Wintry Skies

In the frigid weather of Northeast Ohio, residents witnessed a stunning atmospheric display known as "light pillars." This rare phenomenon was captured in photographs by multiple residents. Meteorologists explained that light pillars occur in extremely cold conditions with little wind, and when sunlight reflects off millions of ice crystals aligned horizontally in the atmosphere. The phenomenon was notably observed early Monday morning, with Tonya Zepeda near Chardon capturing an image at 6:35 a.m., and Stephanie Stiller in Hambden Township snapping a picture around 6 a.m. These light pillars provided a spectacular visual treat, illuminating the cold Northeast Ohio skies with their unique beauty.

🏀 Cavaliers Overpower Bulls 109-91 Despite Chicago's Recent Upturn

The Chicago Bulls faced a tough loss against the Cleveland Cavaliers, ending the game with a score of 109-91 in Cleveland's favor. Despite this setback, the Bulls have shown promising form, winning four of their last six games. The Cavaliers took an early lead, but a strong comeback from the Bulls led them to lead briefly in the fourth quarter, only for Cleveland to reclaim and secure the win. Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell praised the Bulls' competitiveness and lauded his team's resilience, contributing significantly with 34 points. The Bulls showcased a well-rounded offensive effort but failed to have any player score over 20 points, leaving questions about their approach as the NBA trade deadline approaches.

The Cavaliers are now 23-15 and are 4th in the Eastern Conference.
