🍭 Fruit Stripe Gum Bids Farewell: Ferrara Foods Halts Production of Classic Candy

Hey - we grew up on this stuff right here in Northeast Ohio!!!??? Ferrara Foods, the manufacturer of the iconic chewing gum Fruit Stripe, announced its discontinuation this week. The company, which also produces other well-known candies like Red Hots and Runts, described the decision to cease production of Fruit Stripe as challenging. According to a statement given to FOX Business, the decision was influenced by factors such as consumer preferences and purchasing patterns.

Fruit Stripe gum, recognized for its rainbow packaging and cartoon zebra mascot, has been a part of American candy culture since the 1960s. The gum is known for its vividly colored and aptly striped sticks, offering flavors like watermelon, cherry, lemon, orange, and peach. Despite its discontinuation, the company noted that the product might still be available at select retailers nationwide for a limited time.

Ferrara Foods assured that it would continue to offer other beloved and iconic brands in its portfolio, including Fun Dip, Gobstopper, Jujyfruits, Fire Ball, Pixy Stix, Chuckles, Runts, Spree, Boston Baked Beans, and Bottle Caps.
